RRN UPDATE: REQUEST from Batay Ouvriye – CONTINUE THE PRESSURE! CALL GILDAN TODAY.

Minimum wage protest in Port au Prince - Oct, 2012

Minimum wage protest in Port au Prince – Oct, 2012

BO is agitating to demand justice for beaten & fired Premium Apparel worker, Leo Vedél, and asks for your continued solidarity!

Workers have been leafleting at Premium Apparel, as well as, all the factories in the area. Gédéon, the manager who beat Leo, is also a church pastor… so BO went to his congregation to inform them of the abusive practices of preacher Gédéon.

Gédéon has yet to show up in court and workers at Premium Apparel report pressure and threats from management discouraging them from testifying on behalf of Leo.

TODAY, Monday, 02.25.13, BO is mobilizing at the Ministry of Social Affairs to demand justice for Leo Vedél and all workers. Ministry of Social Affairs regulates relations between labor and capital.

BO is asking us to MOBILIZE with them TODAY by calling Gildan! MAINTAIN THE PRESSURE. Meet workers demands:

1) Respect the legal minimum wage!
2) Give Leo Vedél his job back.
3) Pay him for the days he was out.
4) Pay compensation for his injuries.
5) Fire Gédéon, the manager who beat Leo Vedél.
6) Respect the rights of all workers!

THANK YOU to everyone who has called, emailed, written letters, shared info!

TODAY, Monday, 02.25.13, FLOOD GILDAN’S PHONE LINES. Call again and again.
