A youth, not yet an adult in the eyes of the state, murdered strangers in the street in the name of fascistic ideology. One more year and he would have had a badge and gun paid for with our taxes, with qualified immunity to enact the murderous pursuits of the state, like those inflicted on Jacob Blake with SEVEN shots to the BACK. It does not surprise us that his brethren in blue, along with the militias that recruit Rittenhouse and those like him, uplift and venerate this child’s hate-fueled act of violence. Both are being used to rally the base of the right-wing ruling class to cement their dominance.
How can “we keep us safe” with heavily armed and militaristically trained enemies brutalizing us in the streets, while our politics are suppressed online and weakened by capitalist co-optation? NGOs posturing as political organizations call to abolish capitalism at events bankrolled by our class enemies. They tell us to step over the bodies of our fallen brothers and sisters in struggle, and head to the voting booth! Is that justice, to affirm the power of capitalist puppets?! The liberal face of capital calls for a kinder capitalism through divestment and equitable reinvestment. This fantasy of benevolent capital will cut our movement at the knees and keep us rolling toward our own demise, escorted by the worst humanity has to offer.
All capitalist roads lead to fascism.
NGOs, politicians and police all exist to benefit the various capitalist factions – through bandaids to pacify the masses, forceful defense of their property and ideology, or political affirmation of their dictatorship. Some will resist fascism, but will never challenge the economic conditions that drive it. They divide us along the lines of their own contradictions so we’re caught fighting their battles instead of gathering forces for our own.
We need to grow our own strength, to build our own power to fight our common enemies: capitalists and imperialists. Our liberation and that of the global exploited classes, on the backs of whom this world runs, depends on our ability to build powerful organizations. The strength of our organizations comes from resilient, versatile political lines constructed through unity and struggle. Hit the streets, vote if you want, but the priority must be to grow our own combative, principled, organized defiance to this fascist, racist, homicidal capitalist system.
Let this be the moment when our histories of resistance and struggle are synthesized into a fatal blow against capitalism.
